Types of Widgets
- Gallery:
1. drag and drop a folder contains multiple image to the book will auto create a gallery widget.
2. drag and drop on the widget inspector can easily change the order
3. Accessibility Description 'is used to aid bland people. when they touch on the gallery, and switched on the voice over function, ibook will read aloud the description u input.

- Media

- Keynote
1. use keynote open ppt, export to keynote file and drag and drop to ibook

- Interactive Image
1. drag the pointer end on image or the percentage bar at the bottom to adjust the behavior of zoom.

- 3D
1. accept Collada (*.dae) format.  (See also Google Sketchup)

- HTML
classwidgets.com provide various tools for creating HTML widget for interactivity. After finished, it will create a widget icon on the desktop, simply dray and drop to iBook. REMINDER: at download prompt, DO NOT install, otherwise it will delete the widget file after installation!
e.g. interactive timeline images,
youtube embed, especially useful if wanna embed a large file size video while don't wanna include the file in the book.

another app. Hype, is useful for creating Flash-like HTML5. it can export to iBook widget format, or HTML5 codes.

3. To change the "Check Answer" button to chinese, need to change the Mac OS to chinese first. Then restart the iBook Author app, it will auto change the button into chinese. But even it is changed, iPad's system language need to change to Chinese. otherwise, it will still display in english......

Preview
plug iPad, open ibook and go to library bookshelf, in iBook Author, press Preview

Points to Note:
- If ibook is in .ibooks format, it should distributed through Apple iBookstore
- if iBooks is part of institution's course material package, u are allowed to distributed via blackboard, moodle or other. not necessarily via iBookStore
- suggest size for each iBook, not more than 2GB

-iTunes U app can consolidate all notes in all ebook
- prepare course outline, can drag and drop a tabbed format TOC directly to the course manager outline text box.
- edit outline and save in course manager, it will reflected in subscriber's iPad after refresh by close book, open another and open the book again.
- can add a itunesu collection link to a Post. go to iTunesU, go to the collection , copy link. Can include materials of other institution. Apple already handle the copyright issue.
- course manager is not a LMS. just a mean for learning material distribution

in course manager > share course > distribute to others > open in iPad and subscribe.
* course material are hosted in Apple server.
